Hi I am contemplating attending UH and majoring in Journalism but would like to know what the program is like? Anyone have any experience with it? Is it a good program?

Thanks,

Daniel

I graudated from the SOC at U of H in 05 with an emphasis in Media production.
I had alot of friends there that did the Journalism track and loved it.

cant speak for it now though. its been 4 years.
hopefully its only gotten better with time and more money.
U of H is now Tier 1 status, up there with UT and Texas A&M. higher tuition but hopefully even better classes and funding.

good luck Daniel.

It's not Tier 1, but the president Dr. Khatur is trying to make it Tier 1. The tuition is damn near UT's tuition so hopefully it will be Tier 1 soon (as well as the education).

U of H is not cheaper than UT.

Tuition Costs : Tuition Dollars & Sense

Tuition & Fees

It's roughly the same. And no, U of H is tier 4.

It's really not fair to compare U of H to the University of Texas and Texas A&M University........entirely different levels of schools. Don't want to mislead the OP into thinking U of H gets the same credibility.

I figure that UH is not as prestigious at UT or Texas A&M. I just want to know if it's a good school to go to?

I did the communication program at U of H - Clear Lake and thought that it was a great, well put together program.

I graduated from U of H many years ago. I really believe that U of H is a great school; I made lots of friends had fun and got a great education. As far as Journalism and Communication U of H is up there. Look at the site below, U of H made the list as one of the best schools for Journalism while University of Texas and Texas A&M University........ didn't.
