I might try Burger shack, as Ive driven by it a number of times. I figured it was the Stratford High local burger joint.

The High School Joint is Sam's. Buger Shack stretch's the high school budget a little too much. But you will see some in there, but mostly families and business types.
Great tip: On a Saturday.. bike Terry Hershey, then shoot up DA to Memorial for the Burger...then keep biking afterwards!! I do that with Egg & I at Kirkwood and Memorial often. Takes he guilt out of the grease.

I love a good burger. But since "camp house Bar B-Q'. closed I don't know of a "good" burger, and I look all the time, and try them all. I will drive for miles for a good burger, that ain't just ground round. What I can't believe, is nobody has opened a real "Philadelphia Steak Sandwich Shop". I would kill for one of them. and if it comes out of boiling water---you eat it. And what is that white cheese, that taste just like soap???

Isnt there a Texadelphia near Memorial Park, across from Ottos? Philly cheese steaks are one 'junk' food I haven't embraced. Tried Pats while in Philly and wondered what the allure was.
EA, I really like Egg and I

Well Sir, I Know we all have different taste buds. But the ones I have gotten in Indianapolis, make my day. It's the whole combination that gets me. the home made bread, (nice and firm, but chewy, the thin sliced beef, the cheese, the peppers and onions and mushrooms, all grilled and mixed together, right there while you watch. Man, I could sure use one now.--It starts with the smell, when ya first walk in.

Annie's Hamburgers, South Post Oak and Willowbend. Been there for 30 years plus. Great bacon cheeseburgers. Great breakfast, too.

There is a new burger place opening caddy-corner across from Someburger (in the Heights), tentativley called "burgerzilla" - it is owned in part by the owners of the Glass wall, and i know they will not be seving anythign that is not delish! Can't wait to try their burgers...

Very true. A good friend of mine lived in those crummy apartments behind Napoli's. I would tutor her in math. When she couldn't pay me in dollars, she would pay me in kolaches, Burger Shack and Napoli's. The Chinese place in that strip mall was not the greatest. Ninfa's is right there also. I know it's not the original, but it's better than average for their chain.
The only burger I have had that's better than Burger Shack is Tornado Burger in Stafford. Their slogan should be "In like a lamb, out like a tornado."

Go try Jake's Philly Steaks on Chimney Rock. Probably the best cheesesteaks in Houston.
Honestly, one of the best burgers I've had was at Cheesecake Factory. They have a Kobe burger and it was quite awesome. Not cheap though. Sam's Deli and Bellaire Burger are some of the best burgers depending on what side of town I'm on. Oh and actually Mooyah makes a very good burger and you get a hell of alot of fries.
