It's named after major league and former University of Texas pitcher Huston Street. The founders just couldn't spell.

No, it was named after South Carolina. Home of the Gamecocks, or ***** for short.

This raises a related question...was the famous pitcher Nolan Ryan named after the Nolan Ryan Expressway? That seems like an odd thing to name your child.
