Houston Named #1 Texas Restaurant City
Quote:
Only New York, Chicago, San Francsico, Los Angeles and New Orleans finished ahead of the Bayou City. Houston was followed by Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Boston and Las Vegas.
Here's what the Web site had to say about Houston restaurants: "San Antonio may have a far more manifest Mexican food culture, but Houston, which spirals forever outward, has far more breadth and depth — from one of the nation’s finest and most elegantly modern Italian ristorante, Tony’s ($110), to Robert Del Grande’s Café Annie ($110), where New Texas cuisine took hold, and Américas ($100), which pioneered Nuevo Latino food in this country. One of the best places to get the most important meal of the day is the funky Breakfast Klub, where the irresistible specialty is waffles and chicken wings."

Houston, IMO is one of the best restaurant cities in the country. It's nice to finally get the recognition for it.

You have to go to the site below and it links to the Forbes Article. Kind of weird how Forbestraveler won't let you find it by searching. I had to google "ten best restaurant cities."

Lol, no it sounds strange but it's actually a very classy establishment, without the greasy food. I promise you'd like it if you tried it.

I have lived in DC, Chicago and Houston (22 years in Houston and just moved). DC and Houston have NOTHING on Chicago restaurantwise.
Maybe someone can point me to all these wonderful restaurants in Houston that must be hidden?
I thought this article was a joke at first. Houston has some fine places, like America's, but...come on...it is primarily franchises there. One of the finest cites for restaurants in America? How bad are the restaurants in America then?
I'm not buying it....

Reason: Asking people to flame away is just inciting an argument.
