Yeah, TSU's retention rate and freshman profiles are...something.

As of two weeks ago, they're off accredation probation! That's good news for everybody with a degree from the place.

As usual, people have already formed opinions without knowing half of the story.
The event was at TSU, but was not a "student event".
It was more of a "community event", where anybody could show up.
Apparently the people who did the shootings are not even students at TSU.
I know TSU is pretty much a joke of a school right now, but don't lump all students that go there as being gangsters and thugs.

It seems as if the event was supposed to be a bit more positive. More of a community outreach thing. But then again, this is what happens when you bring that many poor people together.

I swear you can't take black folks nowhere.

This the kind of mess that makes me angry.

No one was talking about the students, they were referring to the ineptitude of the TSU police who basically botched the case before handing it over to HPD according to news reports. It's kidof reflective of the staff and the school's reputation as a whole over the last few years. I'm sure we will hear more on this subject.

Wow, it's sad that so many of you are taking pleasure in dumping on TSU. The failure of any university in the Houston area is a failure for all of us. I pray that TSU is able to turn their image around. I'm not a student there, but I do feel bad for the students that have to put up with this. For those of you reading this thread who go to TSU, just know that there are some of us who care about you and hope for both you and your school to succeed.

I drove by the event yesterday a couple of hours before the shooting. It was an odd mix of people...groups of rap fans and families with young children. Personally I don't think of a rap event as very family friendly.

When I drove by again tonight, there were still 3 police cars in the parking lot. Not sure why they were still there.

Well the President of TSU sent out a letter stating that 6 people were injured, and only 1 was a TSU student. The rest were from the Missouri City area.
