^That doesn't look like the safest place to catch some shut eye.

Those houses right there are worth over $200,000 if that is where I am thinking it is.
I used to live a few blocks from there, so if you wonder why I find Glenbrook so tame, well...
Here is one for sale a couple of blocks down.

So, actually, yeah, I guess up & coming transitional it is!
P.S.
I found the house next door to my old one for sale, yikes! Up and coming, it up and left without me I think!

That pic is taken from the other side of the vacant lot on the far side.

The suburban style office parks and strip malls of Houston:
I'm waiting for uptown to become more walkable. It still is a little to car dependant and filled with parking lots.
The upscale street signs surrounding the Galleria
I have hope that one day the buses will fill up. More than 6% of us should be using public transport.

Well folks, you heard right here!! If PC words like 'transitional' ever come up in a thread here to describe a neighborhood, you know what they really mean. Actually I jest (but only partially).
Anyway, I'll bet that house is worth about $25k and the land is worth $175k. Kinda reminds me of Port Arthur, and even some very old neighborhoods around McAllen. But definitely looks like a perfect candidate for "tear down & rebuild". That's completely cliche to Houston, but is probably the most cost effective thing to do for the long-term.
