Default Need real scoop on Houston

We are moving to Houston and are a bi-racial couple with 3 children: 2 teens and one elementary age. We've looked into the Katy area and were wondering how "tolerant" neighborhoods are here. Also wanted any insight on high schools and if this area has montessori elementary schools..

There are so few people in Katy (and in most of Houston) who aren't from somewhere else that there isn't a defined tolerance pattern anywhere. As long as you are good neighbors, keep your property well-maintained and your kids don't run wild, you shouldn't have any problems. Once they get into school and make new friends it will give you a common basis for making friends with the parents. And yes, there are Montessori schools in Katy.

I think most large cities and their suburbs are very integrated. I never noticed any bias anywhere I lived in Texas.
