I dont know of an Irvingston, there's an Irvington though...

Most of it is not so hot, with the exception of Lindale Park, which is very up & coming and quiet. A popular alternative for people priced out of the Heights.

Lindale Park's homeowners association is at http://www.lindalepark.org/

You can search for a house there at www.har.com

Oh, and Lindale Park's Houston ISD public schools are:
* Jefferson Elementary School
* Marshall Middle School
* Davis High School

Irvington extends from the intersection of Fulton Street and Hays Street inside the 610 Loop to the intersection of Schren Lane and the West Hardy Street outside of the 610 Loop and inside Beltway 8.

Lindale Park would be the best bet. I use to live in the Heights and know the area well. Not much shopping, but they are redeveloping the Northline Mall area and hopefully that will revitalize the northern part of Irvington.
