old hospital in Liberty, TX
In Liberty, TX, east of Houston, there is an old hospital that has been long shut down that I am trying to find the name and history of. I am not sure what street it is on, but it is near the court house. It looks like it was built in two parts, the front is white brick and the back is four or five floors with red brick. This building is very intreguing and I would greatly appreaciate any info. you might have to share.
Sincerely,
Daasylou

This is the old Mercy Hospital. Google Mercy Hospital, Liberty, TX, and you will find a site that has 20-30 pictures of it. I found some info that says it was closed over 30 years ago, then was a nursing home before finally being abandoned in the 1980's

I was born in this hospital back in 1945; it was called the Mercy Hospital, it was a white brick, just behind the old Liberty Co Courthouse. It was run by Catholic Nunns, mother is gone now, but she said they were wonderful to her and to me, we stayed there for about 8 or 9 days, she said they had me spoiled rotten. It is an icon in it's own time. signed ruthjjohnson, was name ruth jalene morse
