Also--let me say-- The atmosphere of the barbershop is irrelevant to me personally. All I care about is the quality of the service and the finished product: my 'do lol.

Peace--

If it was only myself going, then I would agree, however, I'm particular about where I take my kids tho... I've been to a few barber shops that show questionable movies, as well as music I don't want my young ones listening to. Even though I can't control who walks into the door, I can control where I take my kids..

True. One barbershop I went to had people smoking weed, had a porno on, crackheads and prostitutes hanging out. That's not a comfortable and safe atmosphere you need to be at, especially if you got kids. Atmosphere is pretty important when it comes to getting haircuts. A place I can feel welcome going to and not a stranger. That's what I miss about my barbershop in Waco. I was treated like family and had been getting my haircut there for 15 years. For prom, the barber even cleaned me up and gave me a shave for free.

Trying looking up some on Almeda - I believe there are some in the Almeda/McGregor area which isn't far from you.

If you posted its address I bet it would be flooded by horny teenagers, stoners, weedheads, etc. the next day.

It's a place on South Main called Good Looks that isn't too far from Rice on South Main and Westridge. It's black, safe, good atmosphere and they can cut pretty good and I KNOW you should be able to ride METRO to get there. I get cut in Southpark now but I went there for a couple of years.

I'm glad somebody (well a couple of people) actually answered his question instead of making it a racial thing. It's just like some people don't date outside of their race......theirs nothing wrong with it if you do but you have the right not to do so.

Does your statement hold true for doctors and dentists? How about attorneys and architects? Where do you draw the line on your racial prefrences for professional services?

uh, it's a topic about the race of a particular service provider. Rationalize away.

I'm sorry but if you ask any black person - hair texture, skin, etc. is different from that of a caucasian and it is more than reasonable that someone would want someone to do their hair that knows exactly about a particular hair texture and skin texture (outside of what a textbook can tell you). A black person is going to better understand a black person's hair needs just as a white person better understands the hair and skin textures of a white person. Not a racial thing -- just the way it is.
