BLACK Barbershops near RICE UNIVERSITY!!!!! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME SISTERS AND BROTHERS--
Greetings all,
I just a few days ago started my Ph.D program at Rice University.
There are not a whole lot of Black people at Rice lol, so I am having trouble finding someone who knows of good Black barbers in the Rice area. I don't presently have a car, but I am more than willing to go out of my way (Bus, or Metrorail, etc.) to find a place that does a GREAT TAPER fade with my sideburns kept thick and connected to my beard (The taper I want is a bit like Denzel Washington had his hair styled in the movie "Fallen").
Does ANYONE have any insight regarding the best Black barbers in Houston (preferably in the Rice U. area)?
Many thanks, I'd greatly appreciate ANY opinions.

You'd have to go to South Park, 3rd Ward, Acres Homes or the black areas of Northside for black barbershops.
Maxey's-Griggs and MLK=South Park
Lovell's=MLK and Reed=South Park
Those are examples. The rest can be found in the previously named Houston hoods.

There are not a whole lot of white people at TSU lol, so I am having trouble finding someone who knows of good white barbers in the TSU area. I don't presently have a car, but I am more than willing to go out of my way (Bus, or Metrorail, etc.) to find a place that does a GREAT crewcut with my sideburns kept thick and connected to my beard (The crewcut I want is a bit like Bruce Willis' had his hair styled in the movie "Diehard").
Does ANYONE have any insight regarding the best white barbers in Houston (preferably in the TSU. area)?

I see the point you're TRYING to make, but honestly I see nothing wrong with someone asking for a barber that specializes in cutting black hair.
In case you haven't noticed African-Americans have different hair than other races.  |
