We don't actually want to go into the festival area, but would rather watch the downtown fireworks from another location. We want to be somewhere that we can bring a cooler, picnic blanket for the kiddo, and still be able to see the show. Any ideas? We're on the West side of town.

I read a post online where someone suggested the Second Baptist church lawn on Woodway, but that seems kinda far? Far from downtown I mean.

That is if we have fireworks, or is this exempt from any bans, either existing or possible?

Anywhere along Buffalo Bayou close to downtown (like off Allen Parkway) works.

I think this may have been suggested to you because Second Baptist has an annual July 4th event every year (family friendly) with hot dogs, games for the kids, etc. Not sure if you can bring your own food. In years past, they have had some (limited) fireworks once it's dark outside (don't know if they still do but you could call & ask).

Miller Outdoor Theater has the Houston Symphony followed by fireworks
every year. You can bring your own food. Family oriented.

To watch the DT show I would set up along Buffalo Bayou down Memorial or Allen Pkwy.
