I need to find out the name of the original home builder in my neighborhood in Houston, TX.. it was in the later 1980's...I have tried searching but have not been able to find it, does anyone know where that information might be? Thanks

It's not in the tax records under ownership history? If not your realtor might be able to help. Also, your neighborhood might be like mine, where there were several different builders throughout.

If its from the late 1980s, there is a 9 in 10 chance that the builder is long gone broke and out of business.

You can check the real property database on the Harris County Clerk's site and see if there is a transaction:

Harris County Clerk's Office

(the databases have been buggy lately, though)
