I live near Cinco Ranch & Gaston and it took me about 25 minutes to pull in my driveway once I got on West Park Tollway from the Galleria area. The actual drive on Westpark tollway from Galleria to 99 (off peak) was less than 20 minutes. From my odometer reading, the stretch of West Park tollway from Galleria to 99 was a little under 20 miles. The average driver drives at about 70mph? The math would suggest that you can do that stretch a little over 17 minutes. Of course this is during off peak time and does not include the section from 99 to your driveway.

According to my MS Maps application:

Grand Parkway to downtown Houston is 25 miles.
Columbus to downtown Houston is 72 miles.

I say its about 1/3 of the way to Columbus.

Looking at a map, anyone who uses the Grand Parkway/99 to get to Aliana (unless perhaps you're coming from the west) would be going way out of the way.

Instead, you'd use FM 1464/Westheimer exit from the Westpark.

Or, go south to use US 90A or Hwy 59 like the other poster said.

Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, the Grand Parkway veers in east around Sugar Land and Richmond. Up toward Katy, it veers out west. It does not make a perfect half circle around the western edge of the Houston metro.

I guess bordering on it doesn't count as being by it.
