I'm realizing now that I have a nicer car that I want to keep it shiny. Which is pratically impossible unless I get it washed every weekend. How often do people wash their cars here?

The last time I washed my car was in 2015.

It's a personal thing. I drive a really nice car, but rarely wash it. It just doesn't bother me. If it gets filthy, pine-dust covered, I might drive thru one of those $5 car washes.

OTOH, my wife has her car washed every week. At Mr. Sparkle (or whatever it's called). She has their "wash it as much as you want" plan.

If YOU want a clean car, get it washed. That's all that matters. Or wash it yourself if you want/can.

I get mine washed about every week; depending on the weather.

Whenever it gets dirty enough to scrawl letters across the surface. Then we get the kids to "help out". Gotta earn their keep, ya know.

(Can't help notice how common car washes are around here. Do folks not wash their own cars anymore? Or was it just not commonly done here?)

For me it's faster/ more convenient to rinse it with a garden hose every weekend so I don't have to drive anywhere, wait in lines etc. Especially I have a time for a car wash typically after 10PM and most local car washes are closed at that time, even automatic ones. Why do I have to be a hostage of their schedule? This method helps to keep it fairly clean and doesn't really add up to my water bill.

I mean what is it $14.99 a month? You use it twice a month and you save money. It's a good deal in my opinion.

Is that all it costs? That is a pretty good deal, if I had one close I would do that and take it in every week.

This. We use Blue Wave Carwash. For $15/month unlimited washes and access to free vacuums.

Gives me an excuse to keep our vehicles clean on the outside and inside.
