Hey Gang. So the hubs and I are on the lookout for a new neighborhood. We checked out Sienna Plantaion this past weekend and really liked it. As I was playing around on HAR I stumbled on Lake Shore Harbour, located in the same zip code.

Looks like a nice place...but don't they all look nice on those tiny little pictures on HAR?

So what can you tell me gang?!?!?!?!

It's a great neighborhood, just not too many people know about it. You can get a great price on a waterfront home, and the taxes are lower than Sienna (by a lot). Princeton has some real nice ones out there.

Nice neighborhood, but you don't get much house for your money.

I disagree with honeyinhouston. You can get a 4200 square foot home...waterfront...for about $350K. That is a great price for waterfront.I see another home for around $320K...3600 square foot....waterfront. And with the lower taxes, I think it's a great value.

With all the drama over the public schools in some of the other threads in here lately (stupid drama.... the schools in SugarLand and Memorial and wherever else discussed, which are all perfectly fine) I'm utterly surprised so far nothing has been said about these schools.

Actually, not to be a huge Lake Shore Harbour advocate....but, these FBISD schools are pretty good.

Palmer is an exemplary elementary school
Lake Olympia is the middle (not the best, but it's better than it's rating)
Elkins high school

True...most of Sienna Plantation is currently zoned to Elkins although I think they are building a HS in SP in 2010.
