The scene isn't so bad depending on what you're looking for. Be mindful of where you want to meet people. If you go to a raunchy club, you're bound to run into scrubs. Try more upscale lounges like Belvedere or Touch (if you can get in...). If you are in school, try to meet someone on campus that is more your speed or frequent local spots that interest you and you may get noticed... The library, gym, etc... Take your time to get to know people, you have some time... Good luck...

It was hard for me and I'm a 31 yr old AA women. I was single for about a year and 1/2...I finally went online and met my boyfriend. We been together now for a few months. Only problem he live on the Northwest side and I live on Southwest...but I think it was hard for me to find anyone because I don't go out to clubs.

I want to know are the sistas (on average) in Houston beautiful. I've seen that club website, and I wasn't impressed.

I'm 34 and AA. I never was a club person and though single now, don't plan to ever be. While there are nice and upscale places,it was never a place I wanted to meet my future mate. Plus the risk of accidently bumping into somebody and having a truly minor incident mushroom into something bad,or worse....on the news.
And your boyfriend is on the otherside of the city ? LOL My ex lived in California and I'd fly out there like twice a month or fly her here. Consider yourself lucky to be so close to each other.

I think that's how it works with any city; you have to get out there and mingle. You can't expect to find someone just sitting around.

If you judge a city by club pix, you get what you deserve. Houston has many articulate educated women to meet, but they dont hang their hopes in clubs. .......Just like the intelligent articulate women of other races here.
