Ranch 99
What is this new Ranch 99 place going in at the old Fiesta off I-10 and Bunker Hill? I looked online and it looks like its a Chinese grocery store?

Maybe they are trying to give the H-Mart on Blalock some competition.
I'm not sure about Chinese, but I know there are a lot of Vietnamese and Korean places in that area.
And I'm sure when Fiesta left, that left a void for a lot of people in that area.

Ranch 99 is a big Asian market. Used to go to the one in San Diego.
I went to H-Market for the first time a few weeks ago & Ranch 99 is going to have to clean up its act so to speak. H-Market is the cleanest, nicest smelling Asian market I've ever been to. Seeing the quality of the produce, meats, bakery & "fast food" options was impressive as well. Would much rather see a Trader Joe's than 99 Ranch go up. (I know...I know...apples & oranges)

H-Mart rocks. One of few places I will buy snapper. The produce is amazing. That whole area from Blalock to Bunker Hill has some great foodie shopping.

Wasn't the land owned by fiesta sold to the city (forced) for expansion of roads etc etc? Thats the last thing I heard. Also heard fiesta was quite happy there.

I always wondered why they would leave that location.
Yeah, during the I-10 expansion sales might have slowed but I can't imagine that's an issue now.
There is another (smaller) Fiesta in the Spring Branch area, so maybe it wasn't too big of a loss for them.

Yep, big Asian market. I'm LOL at Sampaguita's comment about Ranch 99 having to clean up to compete with a cleaner, "fresher smelling" H-Market.

Does Ranch 99 have the fast-food stalls like H-mart does?
