It's neither the county NOR the city that sprays here, it's contracted by our HOA. Sometimes there are benefits to having a large, somewhat expensive HOA.

Our communities probably use the same company. I live in Seven Meadows. Actually out of all the 4 years that I have resided here, this year has been a calm year in regards to mosquitoes. I have yet to have the problems that I've experienced in previous years. I usually hear our truck spraying quite often.

I believe WLN is using the same HOA as Cinco Ranch and I have never seen a truck drive by. My last house in Pearland had a truck come by once or twice a week and noisy up the neighberhood for a few minutes in the evenings, but it was worth it. Seldom did I have issues with mosquitos in Silvercreek.

I just noticed them this afternoon in Silver Ranch. Haven't heard any trucks spraying, though

Not sure what you mean by using the same HOA...don't think so. Cinco HOA is its own entity, with its own office and staff and elected reps and so forth. They are extremely on the ball...not what I have heard from WLN.

This sounds like an issue we need to bring up to the HOA!

I guess I don't mean the HOA as in the actual home owners or elected individuals. But the same regulatory body and rules set forth by PCMI. I thought I heard that somewhere..not sure if it is 100% accurate, but that is what I believed to be true.

In response to others living in WLN, yes, if this continues to be an issue, then it needs to be brought up with the HOA, because not being able to go outside without getting eaten up by hundreds of mosquitos is not my idea of good community planning or budget allocation.

I think what they meant was same management company (same as Cinco 1). PCMI (which is a Severn Trent company) manages many HOAs in Houston. And while PCMI may take care of many of the HOA duties, each HOA does have some of it's own staff (for example, Tammy Evans is a regional manager for PCMI and can be contacted by each PCMI HOA, but Rexanne East is strictly Cinco Ranch) and is ultimately run differently.

My method for mosquito control is a large butterfly/hummingbird garden. Between all of the dragonflies and hummers visiting my yard right now, I don't have a big problem. Since I won't spray anything because of all of the beneficial insects that are in my garden, I do have mosquito coils that I can light up on my patio, which work very well. I haven't had to use them yet.

I live in PMR and with the recent rain the mosquitos have gotten so bad I could not open my front door without getting attacked. I was so fed up that I contacted the city of Katy to spray. I was informed that I do not reside within the City of Katy limits and that I should contact the Ft. Bend County Road and Bridge Dept. I did so and was told that PMR was not even on the schedule to be sprayed!! They did put us on the schedule and within a couple of days I heard the trucks come out. I have been able to take my daughter to the park and actually walk to the mailbox without bathing in "OFF". If you live in a fairly new subdivision chances are you are not on any schedule to be sprayed.
