Unhappy Woods FM1464 Orchard Lake Estates / Stratford Park

I live off of FM 1464 in Sugar Land / Richmond area. TxDot is going to be finishing the widening of FM 1464 in the near future. There is a big wooded area that sits between Orchard Lake Estates and Stratford Park subdivisions. TxDot has plans of bulldozing that whole wooded area and putting a retention pond for drainage. A retention pond is a fancy word for a ditch. They don't plan on planting any trees back or landscaping it any from what I was told by a TxDot employee. I don't have a problem with a retention pond being put there. It is the loss of all the trees and the beauty of a wooded area. In my view this is a perfect opportunity for TxDot to make something beautiful out of something that could be very ugly. Is there anyone who I could express my concern about this to besides TxDot?

So if you live in Orchard Lake Estates or Stratford Park by this wooded area be aware that you will be losing that wooded area. You lose the beauty of the trees and the added benefit of it blocking the road noise!
Poor birds, ducks and other wildlife loose their home.

Try our county commissioner, he has been very helpful to us with all kinds of issues in the past
Fort Bend County - Commissioner Patterson

You might also try registering and asking around on this board, if you're not already on it
