Default Michigan to Tomball, TX

Hi, I will be moving from Michigan to the Tomball area to start work at the airport near there... David Wayne Hooks Memorial. I am just wondering if someone could give me the low-down on the area and where the hotspots are. Also, if anyone has any tips on good places/apartment complexes, ect. to live.. that would also be very helpful! Pretty much any info would help and I don't really need to hear about all the stuff that sucks.. cause im sure i'll figure that out when i get there! I just want things I can looks forward to and stuff i should know before arriving. Thanks!

Rent a house rather than an apartment for a better lifestyle. There are a lot of restaurants, shopping, etc. nearby. Close enough to Houston to see everything there. In fact, when you drive to Houston, you will not be able to tell when you have passed the line - the Greater Houston Metro really encompasses Tomball, Conroe, Magnolia, Katy, The Woodlands, Bay City, Baytown, Clear Lake, Pasadena,, Sugar Land, Spring, etc., etc. We will be touching Dallas soon. I keep hearing from out-of-state clients that we are so friendly and "hopeful". I really don't know why they used that word, but I have had it said to me several times. I am taking it that other parts of the country seem "hopeless" in comparison?

While Hooks airport may have a Tomball address, its actually closer to the Klein/Champions area that has a lot more shopping, restaurants, etc.

Check out Louetta Road or Spring Cypress Road from 249 to Kuyukendahl.

Also, near Stuebner Airline and Spring/Cypress road there are some apartments that have been there less than a couple years (in fact sections are brand new). It would be about a 2 minute drive from work if you lived in those. I forget the name but its about 200 yards East of Stuebner Airline on Spring/Cypress.
