Default Reliant Park after a concert

Hi

We are going to Houston to see U2 next oct-14 but we are staying at the Hilton Hotel in IAH.

We need to know if it could be easy (at least doable) to take a cab after the show and go to the hotel? How people tend to mobilize after this kind of events?

Probably $35 to $40 each way, quite doable. You can call a cab from one of the bars near there.

I'm from Raleigh, and am here in Houston on business.

I will just say that there has been a lot of buzz on the entire U2 Tour about massive traffic problems, horrific. (see the thread on the Raleigh forum in NC). If you are going, plan to get there early.

With that in mind, I would maybe consider looking into taking the light rail from another location, perhaps a Downtown hotel. You will save money, and it will get you away from the major fray and what I assume will be VERY long waits for a cab.

Also, I am staying accross the street from Reliant, as I have many times. Each way cab fair to and from IAH is closer to $60. You can cut that in half by going to downtown hotel on the rail line, and taking the rail.

One caution. I am not from here, so I don't know the running hours of the rail. I can't imagine that they wouldn't be running late enough to clear the stadium, but you'd be smart to check that out, just in case.

Also, I've heard nothing but great things about this concert. The band, the stage, the show have all been getting great reviews. Have a great time!

I've been wondering about parking & traffic too. I live pretty close, but I expect all those intersections near the stadium are going to be a mess. Are there any park & ride services to Reliant, or any options besides light rail?
