Smile Junior Hockey_Travel Teams in/around Conroe, TX

We are thinking of moving to Conroe, TX area from Rhode Island. My son plays in a Travel Team here (Squirt A). He really enjoys Hockey and it is very important for us to place him in somewhat similar in TX.

I tried to browes thru different rinks online and have sent several emails to Squirt Coaches and so far have not gotten any responses back

If you have a child, who plays Hockey around Conroe, TX area - Would you please give me some info like:

1. Location of the Rinks/Travel Teams/Clinics
2. How many times per week you child is on Ice?
3. How many of Practices per week?
4. How many Games per Season?
5. How far you Travel (Travel Team)?
6. How many Tournaments per Season? How far?
7. Average Cost for a Squirt per Season?

At the present time, our son is about 4-5 times per week on ice.
Our Seasonal Cost is $1,000 plus the travel expenses during go away Tournaments (usually at least 2 per season).

Thank you in advace for all of your advice and helpfull information in regards to my statement above.

My son does not play Hockey but I know there are Hockey rinks/teams at Memorial City and in Clear Lake both would be a tough drive from Conroe.
I am not sure if they have Hockey in the Woodlands but I am thinking no.
Have you considered Football?

Football would not work for right now (maybe when he is in High School).
He started playing Hockey scince he was 5 and he is enjoys it very much.

I found "3 Star Inline" in Shenandoah, TX 77385 (Woodlands area). I need to email them, hopping they would reply.....

There are squirt travel teams in the area. They've all started all ready, but I'm sure there are some with open spots. My 5 year old plays mite house hockey down in clear lake for the BAHHA Hounds. Cost is $1100 for the fall/winter season. They have 1 practice and 1 game per week, and also an hour of 3 on 3 scrimmage time on Sundays... so 3 hour total per week.

Here are two websites to check out:

HoustonHockey.net Everything Hockey in Houston - has links to all of the leagues in the area

Houston House Hockey - this is the house hockey website, but it has links to the different rinks/teams in the area.

I believe the Houston Hitmen, Houston Jr. Aeros and Houston Wild all have travel squirt teams. Cost is probably going to be higher than you are use to just because it is more expensive to make ice down here. Also, the travel teams routinely travel to Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Lafayette for games on consecutive days, so expect to be paying for hotel rooms every 2-3 weeks.

Also, the closest rink to you is probably the Aerodrome in Willowbrook. I know there are house teams that play under the Willowbrook name, but I'm not sure about travel teams playing out of that rink.

Aerodrome
