Default Corrigan

Moving to the area, concentrating North of Houston (between Houston and Dallas). I know that is a large range, an concentrating on Corrigan. Any information on the area would be most appreciative. Thanks.

Well, it is NOT between Houston and Dallas. Between Houston and Dallas is the I-45 corridor, Corrigan is along the Hwy 59 corridor. It is closer to Dallas but there are no major interstates in between or for that matter, major highways. Corrigan is in the Piney Woods of east texas, an area that is very green and densely treed. The town makes most of its money from logging revenues. It is a very small town with literally just 1 stoplight. It has a small grocery and a pretty good burger joint. The nearest larger towns would be Livingston to the south (about 45 minutes) and Lufkin to the north about 20-30 minutes. Even Diboll just north of there is larger (rates 3 stop lights). If you like fishing, Lake Sam Rayburn is not far away from there and the Neches River is there. The Neches river corridor is still one of the most natural rivers in the US and it is very worth a canoe or boat trip. In any case, if you live in the Corrigan area be prepared to drive alot and plan ahead to get things that you need, visit doctors etc.

I like Diboll better when I'm driving through. I just wonder if the paper mill creates a smell. But Lufkin isn't too far away.

There are tons of small town in that part of Texas. What is it you are looking for? Farming, retirement, running cows, growing timber, drive times to the city, etc.?
