Default Best suburb to commute to downtown Houston from?

Moving to Houston in August, just wondering which suburb or area would offer the shortest commute time to downtown, without living inside the loop. Thanks for the help.

Depends upon price range. I would consider Memorial a suburb, but it is pretty pricey. Meyerland is another option. If you are talking the newer, more moderate priced ones, then Pearland is the closest of the usual suspects, (Sugarland, Katy, Cypress, Champions, Woodlands, Kingwood, Clear Lake, etc.)

Which subdivisions in Pearland is closest without being near the garbage dump place that everyone is talking about. (and without being in the ghetto).

There is a lot of new development down there. Shadow Creek Ranch is the one next to the landfill, so any of the other ones I guess.

Didn't the article say anything within 5 miles radios will be effected?

Name some of the closest Pearland suburbs to downtown (not just distance, but also ease to commute to downtown during rush hour whether it's close to highway or something).

I wouldn't say it's 15 mintues though! The distances is only slightly closer to downtown than the Northeast part of Sugarland and the North part of Pearland and it's about the same distance to the Medical Center compare to those two.

Fall Creek is insite the Beltway about 15 minutes (actually less) north of Minute Maid Park and the central business district. I drive it all the time.

Everyone seems to think that Alief is ghetto. Are there any gated communities/suburbs in Alief that might be safer?
