Default wedding reception in galveston

I am recently engaged and we are planning to have our wedding in Galveston March 27 or April 3, or maybe during the week. I have searched the internet thoroughly (as we live on the east coast and are moving to Houston in Dec) and most of what I found were dinner cruises for the reception. I am most likely leaning towards that since it's unique and I have serious time constraints, but do you know of any other venues in Galveston that would be great for a reception? We are planning a small party of 50ish people, to include children. Would an outdoor reception be ok during that time? What about the Hotel Galvez? If anyone knows of an all-inclusive package, please enlighten me. I am graduating in Dec, have to study for boards, and plan this wedding at the same time, so my time is extremely limited.

The San Louis, Hotel Galvez,or the Tremont Hotel, it is beautiful and historic. Possibly one of the big restaurants on the pier would accomodate you. Pier 21,Olympia or Landrys. You may be able to host it in The Grand. A 100 year old Opera house recently renovated.
I think outdoors would be fine in March. Possibly picture perfect!

Try the San Luis. I stay there for my beach vacations but I know they arrange wedding receptions and it's very nice and it's only yards from the beach and ocean.

I agree with the other posters the about San Luis. It is a beautiful hotel/resort. They have an outdoor gazebo for weddings.

Call the Convention and Visitors Bureau...they probably have a list of possible venues.

I wish I remembered the name of the place, but we went to a really nice wedding reception at a hotel in Galveston. It was off the seawall.

Good luck though.

Don't know if that being one of the prime weeks for Spring Break would have any effect on your wedding plans but it's something to consider. It used to get pretty wild...maybe things have changed.
