Best Place to Live Close to IAH.
Hello Everyone! We are looking for a home close to IAH in a good neighborhood. Would you please advice on the better neighborhoods? I would like to find something between 15 to 20 miles from the airport. I'm hoping to spend no more than 150k. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but I don't need anything big. I just don't want a condo. I hope you have good news for me. Thanks!!!

Look around in 77346 zip code - Atascocita - should get some decent prices especially in some of the neighborhoods where the houses are a little older. Not a bad commute.

Thank You.
I will be visiting next month. I just received the relocation booklet from Houston but it features really expensive areas. Thanks again.

I agree with Atascocita. You might find something in the older sections of Kingwood as well.

Kingwood or Atascocita are your 2 best options.

I'm right around 20 minutes north of IAH, and live in a two year old 1,800sq. ft. home that's on the market for 125k. It's located in 77386, in Montgomery county, where the taxes are a bit lower generally than Harris county. Since you mentioned your looking for a good neighborhood, check out Forest Village, one of the cheaper options in this part of Spring.
Good luck in your search.
