I left MN 20 years ago and don't regret it...especially this time of year! Houston is a great city, much to offer if you seek it out.

Thanksgiving. Starting the day with the parade downtown. Then eating 'the meal.' And ending the day in the Galleria area watching fireworks. Usually all done wearing shorts.

Nice, I havent visited, but have seen mass amounts of youtube of all the highways and downtown and what not, and I got relocating books and brochures, once I finish high shcool, ill probably be going there

It is so surreal how much you sound like me! I complain about Indy a lot and as you said about Minnesota, it's not too bad here but I'm tired of living here and I would like to give my family a place to visit when they wanna get outta Indy for a while...

I also visit YouTube often and do a search of people who have videotaped their drives around the Houston area and it looks so exciting and lively to me. I just ordered a relocation packet so I should be receiving it in the next few weeks. I plan to be outta Indy by next summer.

Maybe this has been said already, but I like how the city is laid out. When I visit there it seems easy to get to any place I need to go. I realize rush hour is bad however.
I also like the dog parks. I don't have a dog but my son does and we have gone to a couple of them.

Man, I would never regret it, the weather right now is terrible, and its only going to get worse as winter comes.

You DO sound like me,that is creepy, I am so tired of it here and I want to go. My mom wanted to move out of state when she was in high school but her mom was one of those that doesn't want their baby to leave and made her feel extremely guilty so she never did it, my mom isn't like that, she can't stand Minnesota either, well she doesn't hate it and go around and complaing but she would love to leave, and she is really encouraging me to do what I want, and plus she can come visit me which is something she would really like to do.

I got a relocating guide also, it is extremely helpful, just google like relocating to houston, and find some sites where you can order free ones, the one i got tells you everything you need to know and hurricane insurance and what not.

I have also seen videos, and I know many people think the big interchanges are eyesores and look kind of industrial, but to me someone who has never been there they are amazing, I want to see them in person really bad.

Once I get out of high school I will GO, and the good thing is my mom is encouraging me

I have driven through Indiana, and um ya, it was as boring as Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Illinois (outside of chicago)
I want to go down south, much warmer.

Here are some videos of the roads in houston on youtube, you maybe already seen them!

YouTube - Houston Texas I-45 North Through Downtown

Great city!!! Fantastic restaurants, lots of entertainment, places to go and people to meet, fairly cheap living for a city of this size, good places to shop, ethnic diversity and even traffic is not sooooooo bad! Love it!

Do you know anyone that might want to buy a house in the Como Park area of St. Paul? My mom has been stuck up there for months trying to sell it as her dad passed away. I am trying to get my mom to move down here to be closer to us, but she loves Chicago too much.

I just received a Relocating to Houston magazine and it is so large!! I love the pictures and all of the information that it has to offer. Houston is DEFINITELY a city that I am considering relocating to! The magazine is so big I haven't read through the entire thing and I received it almost a week ago! LOL!

Yeah, when we were relocated here just over a year ago I was overwhelmed by the relocation package the realtor sent me...magazines, maps, brochures, etc. So much information to digest! But it made it so exciting for me. I particularly remember opening the brochures for Seven Meadows and Cinco Ranch out here in Katy...it looked like living in a resort and I had never seen anything like it...and quite frankly, it IS like living in a resort to me. And I love it.
