Too funny. Housing market in Mpls/St. Paul is slowly coming back but it's too slow. My house was in the market for 3 months and not sold so we just canceled the contract dues to winter is coming up and slow traffics during this time of the year. We hope for the best for the second time around.
Maybe you can buy a ticket and invite your mom down to Houston for a visit. Take her to places that you think she will fall in love with, maybe she will change her mind and want to move to Houston? Why would one loves Chicago too much I wonder?

That's what I like to hear!! I'm glad to know that someone has had a wonderful experience relocating to Houston in recent months (or as you said, a year). I received an email from an apartment complex called Newport on the Lake in Katy and the pictures are amazing!!! I am currently looking into receiving more information on the complex.

Days like the last few we've had, make it all worth while. Only two skeeters to deal with.

I don't live in Houston but I have visited three times.I enjoyed it whenever I got to see family in Houston.I enjoyed the Space Center during a previous visit. Also, I enjoy seeing the big city and that part of the state( I live in Midland).

The Space center is by far my favorite attraction when visiting. Everytime I visit I make a point of going there. Learn something new every time. The employees are very friendly there also. I never knew what people meant about southern hospitality until I visited Houston for the first time.

I live in northern Scotland but my husband spends a lot of time in Houston (oil industry). I love coming to Houston whenever I can. The weather, for me, is great. Hot and humid yes but that beats sleet, snow, blizzards, ice, horizontal freezing rain and only a few hours of daylight in winter! The food, the food, the food. Fantastic. The service. Amazing. People are polite and friendly. The houses are fantastic value for money. The cost of living is low (compared to here). Theatres, museums, parks. Kemah is just a short-ish drive away. You are lucky to live in nsuch a great city. And stop moaning about the traffic. You want to see traffic, come to Britain during rush hour. We are gridlocked!!!!! And, of course, the shopping. Well.........I love it.

This is so true. Houston traffic can be bad, but I have also seen worse in other cities and countries.

I have lived in Houston for 40 years. Actually, it used to be a GREAT place to live. Now there is nothing nice I can say about it at all. Gangs, potholes, polution, rudeness, high prices, crazy drivers, well, I guess that's enough. If you have family here, that's the only +
