Before you go to all that trouble, find out about where they are hanging out and then use Terro ant bait. It might take a few days, but it's worked great for me.

These crazy ants are clever. They will feed the Terro bait to the red ants.

hey, when you guys say "bombed" what do you mean? a pressurized vapor can which sprays a mist, or an actual >smoke< bomb which burns and makes insecticidal smoke which penetrates all cracks, horizontal or otherwise, which mist/vapor spray does not? I doubt a spray can vapor mist would penetrate inside a door panel or under a hood or inside some engine compartment fuse or whatever box.....?

I have a large shipping container I use for a shop. I had the same ants start scurrying by the door. I put some Diazinon powder by the door they died

Bumping this thread - I have a similar problem in my truck, just wondered if any of the posters from 3 years ago have updates.... thought about putting an insecticide bomb in the cab of the truck, but that just seems wrong for many reasons. May try to find the Terro product. I've used ant bait stations (like Combat), but the most recent version doesn't seem to phase them.
