I'm looking at houses in the 77061 area, but I need to find a new gym. I'd like to stay away from the chains. Does anyone know of any independent gyms or what the best of the big box gyms is? Much appreciated.

Lifetime fitness is the only place that will let me do what I want. Most gyms will not let you do deadlift. Also at some gyms people leave huge messes.

If you don't find one, I have a lot of heavy stuff that needs moving.

There's only one gym to join and that's Lifetime fitness. I know you said independent but with everything they offer, its hard to pass up on this option.

So, how long have you worked there?

Fitness Connection. I like them because they are cheap per month, no contract, and its a ton of equipment and machines. They don't offer classes or anything, and there is a one time start up fee, but for $10 a month to get my work out in, that's all I want.
