Default Can anybody take the stairs at Williams Tower?

I love taking the stairs for exercise at work in the medical center. I do it several times a day, and my regular routine is to go up 17 floors, go back down the elevator and go up 17 floors again (I usually do this 3 times a day). But I thought it would be awesome to take the stairs at Williams Tower near the Galleria.

Is Williams Tower accessible to anybody? Can I just walk into the building and start taking the stairs all the way to the top even if I do not work there? Do I have to sign in on a log sheet or anything like that? What about weekends?

Any info from anybody that works in the tower or might know would be appreciated.

They have pretty strict security there. I doubt it.

The stairs at Williams are secure and unless you work there, you won't be allowed that access. You might be able to get into them, but getting out of them without a key card will be a challenge!

wow - very impressive! I hardly see anyone take the stairs at work, so I don't do them either, cuz if I pass out, it'll be a long while before anyone finds me!

Retired NFl running back Curtis Martin was famous for his off season stairs routine. He would vary it but basically would run up 20 flights and run back down. This was considered a set. He would do 10-12 sets.

To mix it up he would sometimes do 6 sets AT FULL SPEED!!!!

When I lived in Chicago they held an event called Hustle Up the Hancock, which was a stair climb of the Hancock tower.

My god, my legs start burning after just going up one floor on the stairs.
No wonder I never made it to the NFL, or played in college, or even started on varsity for that matter. LOL
