My buddies that got the hell outta Houston were much happier after taking the dive. I just think they set standards that didn't quite work out here. The ones who stayed around have the same story today, several years later, still feeling themselves. And the single career women-- I'll save that for another day.
There is some truth to this, when I was in Beaumont I met a number of nice women. A few had some college, but they were looking to meet Mr. Benefits. It was the first time I was ever asked if I was hourly or salaried (by a number of women, even at church). Still recall meeting one womans grandparents for the first time. The grandma came over and said 'So Oil what do you do?' I replied "I'm a process engineer at xxx refinery, I do ..." "Thats enough." Grandma said as she walked away and nodded approval to my girlfriend.

I think you understand what I was getting at. All of us were in engineering and/or the construction mgmt field and the game is definitely better out that way, and even deep into the Galveston area where the attitudes are basically the same. Chances are even better if you can work on your own truck. The flip side, as you said, is the potential for gold digging but that is pretty much everywhere.

Lol, not really. But, I have just meet someone. And she is a freaking catch. I'm not kidding you. I don't know how old you guys are, but I am 25. Maybe that has something to do with it. I might be saying the same thing in a few years, who knows.

But, I also want to add that I do know what you guys are saying. I meet these type of women all the time. They end up being friends, haha. I talk to a lot of people whether it is on the street, bar, cafe, or get together. And I find plenty of women that are great, not that I end up with all them, haha.
