Default Why would you live in Houston? (10 Reasons)

Article 10 Things We Love About Houston*|*Help! I'm Moving to Houston

Makes me wonder about the other article 1,000 reasons to hate living in Houston J/k

Anyway, here is my favorite #5
Quote:
Great Variety of Food. Long known for the large quantity of high end restaurants (which is probably related to the size of the expense accounts of local companies) Houston has an enourmous supply of family run ethnic restaurants. Malaysian, Vietnamese, Himalayan, Pakistani, Indian, it is all here. Stop at one of the hundreds of little restaurants along Bellaire Blvd, and though you may not be able to find the country it was named for on the map, you will love the food and the prices.

That's my favourite thing about Houston also. Although for really top notch food you do have to pay more than you might in other countries at least it's still available.

I agree with the food. I love to try new things at different places. And I have all I can want in Houston. Not to mention the cost of living for a big city, that allows me to pay for the food, haha. The Diversity....at least in my area. Constantly having something to do!!

In no particular order:
1. The food
2. The hot weather (yes I like hot weather year round)
3. The affordable proximity in which one can live near downtown (within 20-25 miles) versus other cities where you are 40-50 miles out before it becomes affordable
4. Proximity to the water (even if it is dirty and brown)
5. The people in general
6. The fact that it is considered one of the best places to open your own business and stand a chance of being successful
7. Memorial, Hermann and Discovery Green Parks
8. Great medical care
9. Quirky things - art car parade, bayou city arts festival, international festival
10. Shopping

I would say diversity but honestly I don't give a flip if I live in a diverse area or not - as long as the people around me are decent, hard-working, care about their fellow man and not racists -- I don't care what ethnicity they are.

That is diversity my friend and is an excellent attitude to boot.

You guys should get out more, I mean out of Houston. The food here is mediocre but the variety is good enough to mention.
