Hi Ya'll,

I have been browsing on HAR for months as we are relocating from Florida. Could you help me by posting the names of neighborhoods where the total tax rate is 2.5% or less? I know that this all depends on ISD's and MUD's. For instance, Benders Landing in Spring is roughly 2%. Legends Ranch down the way is like 3.6%. I refuse to pay more that 2.5% I am moving from 1% Florida. Yes the schools stink in FL I know.

We're looking to spend $280-$380k for homes located N, NE, NW, SW, and W specifically. I don't care about ISD's. I don't rely on teachers and reputations of ISD's to raise my children. I went to the best private schools in Chicago and 1/2 the kids were f ups when they arrived (pisspoorparenting) and no better when they graduated. Schools mean nothing to me.

If I read any more about how TX has no state tax to justify these BS taxes, I'm gonna lose it.

I'm not looking for a realtor with this post, just some direction.

Thank you VERY MUCH!!! Again, no realtor solicitations please.

Don't know about another area but I can say that Bender's Landing is a very nice community.

There are currently 717 listings in the MLS system with tax rates 2.5% or less. I suggest you get pickier. Contact a Realtor and ask for a custom search - but not me - my feelings have been hurt. LOL

If high taxes bother you that bad, TX is probably not the best place for you. It's definitely an adjustment to those of us used to lower taxes, but to me it's worth every penny.

Benders Landing is great except at the price range you won't find anything or maybe 1-2 houses on your high end. Also, it has low tax rates because it has no MUDs because you use well water and a septic system. Nothing wrong with that but there is a cost associated with it.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your replies, however I'm looking for neighborhoods with tax rates at or under 2.5%, that's all. I appreciate the comments but I know the drill. Thank you for your assistance.
