You were saying?
You are connecting the two in a way I didn't mean. I am not saying anyone who liked GWB is a racist. What I am saying is that people who will say what a great job he was doing while America crumbled have no qualms about what people think of them - therefore why would they lie if the reason they were moving to the suburbs was for anything else other than more house for the money, as they stated? Sheesh!

Don't be so quick to attack and bite.

I just love the warm fuzzies of Bi-partisanship.

Good thing it has nothing to do with race relations or where most of America stands.

Can we please keep this as close to one topic as possible?

Well, the OP has successfully stirred the pot on this one. I'm not really a fan of the suburbs, but if racism or prejudice is the case, you might not want to move ANYWHERE for that matter. It's unfair to say that the country, suburbs, cities, states, Katy, Houston or Texas have a lock on racism. It exists and sadly its NOT going away until everyone who is racist dies--it's pretty obvious, now pipe down people!

I understand what you are trying to say cheryjohns, sometimes ideas are just difficult to articulate.

It's not meant to be a bite and attack - its saying that if someone thought he did a great job and said so ("no qualms about what people think about them") that you are saying that only your politics are right - so those people have something to be ashamed of for speaking their opinion or view .... my comments were that the two comments don't really jive because they have nothing to do with each other. One is politics which really there is no right or wrong, and voting for a particular candidate and claiming to have done so is nothing to be ashamed of. Being a racists... ehh, something to be ashamed of -- no comparison in the two statements but comments not meant as a personal attack.

Yep, racism has been here since the beginning of time - it isn't going anyway and it knows no racial boundaries - anyone and any ethnicity can be guilty of being racist -- just ignore the ignorance and move on is the best way to deal with those types.

I've never been to that Kroder, but I find it hard to believe that there were only white guards. Especially security guards is a field that is heavily black.

You talk about "hostile treatment", and yet you only gave us one incident ( Kroger ).

I've been saying forever that the HPD ( well, and surrounding PD's) is no good. So I find it hard to judge why they sould stop him 12 times, allegedly. And no, these police departments are not 100% white). I've heard it before that they arrested people for outstanding tickets.
There was NO bail and NOT the option to get out once the ticket was paid off? Didn't you consult an attorney? I'm pretty sure that he could have gotten out once the tickets were paid off and if they had no bail, it sounds like it must have been a huge amount. I just think that calling everybody a "racist" is the easy way out. There are plenty of other people of other backgrounds that have experienced the same. You do not know why they stopped you. Just because you are one of those people who get stopped, you can't just assume they did it because he was black. I've been stopped many times for no reason. At least no apparent reason to me. What am I supposed to say? I am simply tired of peopel ayways accusing whites of racism ( what a word ). I don't know anything about his criminal histroy, but if he has something on his record, then it's not really surprising.

CheryJohns comment was a little off. I know what she mean, but I think it's still inappropriate. No, I am not a GWB fan and actually did despise his administration.

Lastly, I wanna add something about niknak's comment.

Not saying the only reason but most have fled to so called "good areas" (code for minimal diversity) because they don't want to deal with minorities.
Why would you put "good areas" in ""? They are good areas. Sounds like you might be a little jealous. I don't think anybody will dispute that Katy is indeeda good area. And no, I don't live in Katy or any other suburb And if they are largely white - so what.

All are over 75+ black or hispanic. The last one is about 85% black. Could give you several more zip codes with the same stats.
I assume they are also all racist. I mean, it just must be. It's very obvious.

Now I am done

No, I think I know what she was referring to and I don't even think it was political.
