Default Best Apartments in NW Houston?

My wife and I are considering moving to Houston, rather than buying right away we think renting for a while would be best to help get a sense of the town. My job would be in the NW corner of the 610 loop just off 18th.

Can anyone recommend a good apartment complex in that general area? We do have a "large" dog (Golden Retreiver) so it would have to be pet friendly.

Also thanks for to everyone who posts to the forum, it's been very helpful.

Hi,

I'm considering moving to Houston or Portland by the end of this year. The people here are very helpful and seem to know what they're talking about.
I continue to get wonderful advice from both transplants and natives.
It's refreshing to get an "honest" profile as opposed to people "glamorizing" their city only to find yourself disappointed upon arrival.

I lost my Lab a few years back Such a beautiful dog. I would like an apartment that's dog friendly as well but since I'm a college student can't afford to pay extra fees for having a pet.

You may want to consider renting a house in The Heights.
