Default city life in houston

where do most young people (20-30) stay in houston? im debating between houston, atlanta, carolinas, chicago, ohio...im looking for a place where i can walk to most of my destinations such as clubs, museums, restaraunts, shopping, movie theatres, grocery stores, ect. i dont mind driving but im irritated with sitting in traffic for 3 hours to get somewhere thats only 30-45 minutes away. if anyone could help please with where to stay

Mid Town and Montrose are good bets. Both close to all you are looking for.
