How many different ways can you design midrise apartment buildings?

I would like to see examples of how others would prefer they be designed.

My exact thought. Highrises are a different story, but midrise apartments? What more can you do?

Aren't these developers giving y'all what y'all want as far as density? I don't get it.

It's not something you have to get. Everyone has a different opinion and that's fine. Some like density with a little character added to it and some like density no matter how bland the designs are. It's ok for someone to voice they are unhappy with it. They don't have to convince me, you, or anyone else why they feel that way.

As long as they are pedestrian friendly with some retail at street level (similar to the Post Midtown Square), I don't care what they look like.

Anyways it is kind of impossible to build something radically different (like the Gugenheim in Bilbao for example) without having design/construction costs skyrocket, and for most prospective buyers they tend to care more about the amenities and location rather then the architecture per say.

Several oil companies were out in the woodlands. Exxon moving south of there I don't believe has as much an effect as the development of the woodlands commercial district does. Downtown is getting too expensive for the oil companies main operations. Energy corridor and the woodlands are nice alternative sites (especially with the complete collapse of greenspoint).
