What is the current Crawfish price? I know its a bit cool which is causing the prices to rise around Houston. And usually the prices drop the closer we get to summer am I correct? Plus I dont plan to cook it myself I plan on going down to Boiling Crab on Beltway 8 and picking up a pound for me and my fam.

I really want to get some on Sunday.... but dont want to be gouged on price because of the unusually cool weather.

According to this article from a week ago, current market price may be around $6 per lb.

I was at the Cajun recently and they were charging about $7/lb including corn and potato. At Wet Spot in midtown, they charge 5.25/lb but its only crawfish, other stuff is extra. Id like to try boiling crab, other posters have said good things.

Not sure of the current prices for cooked crawfish, but no doubt it'll cost you more than the live ones. Why only a pound from Boiling Crab, that ain't enough to wet the palate. If eating crawfish is a new experience for you and your family, I suggest you make a trip over to the crawfish fest in Breaux Bridge, La. The fest starts the end of April.

I caved in yesterday and ended up getting a couple pounds. Total came out to be around $16 at boiling crab... I think thats a little steep considering 2lbs. is enough for just one person.

If you are only getting 1 or 2 lbs, I would worry more about the quality than the price. If you are like us and get 5 lbs each, then you need to start factoring in price too. Especially if you are with a party of 5 or 6 big crawfish eaters.
