I also recommend Sears. We bought a washer and dryer at the Sears Appliance store in Katy on I-10 and got a great deal with their Labor Day sale.

Thanks guys. Does Sears sell other brands than Kenmore, like GE and Whirlpool? Reviewers on consumerreports.org seem to agree Kenmore's quality sucks, and a few years ago I lived in a rental with a semi-new Kenmore fridge which was a POS, so I'm not sure I want to buy a Kenmore (which is made by South Korea's LG Lucky Goldstar??). If Sears carries Whirlpool (best reliability according to Consumer Reports) and/or GE, I'd be happy to check it out.

Thanks again.

Yes they do and I have had no problems with Kenmore but maybe I've just been lucky.

Yes they do. Pick up a Sunday paper and see what's on sale at Best Buy, Sears, etc.
When I bought my washer and dryer 5 years ago, Consumer Reports ranked Kenmore very high. Of course it varies by models. But I bought Kenmore models that were ranked high on the Consumer Reports list and haven't had any problems. I recommend sticking to models CR recommends, regardless of brand.

K & N down on Washington.

They sell lots of GE and Jennair along with the Wolf and Viking. Not washer/dryers though. For that I just had Sears truck over Maytags.

I love my Jennair double door frig, with freezer on the bottom.

There is a Scratch and Dent Warehouse out 290 between 610 and the Beltway.

Houston's Source for Quality, Low Cost Home Appliances!

Heavily discounted, and most of it has nothing more than a scratch on the back where you can't even see it after installation.

Sears scratch and dent warehouse is on Griggs. Initially I didn't go there because I mistakenly assumed it would just be Kenmore and I wanted a bigger selection. I mentioned it to a few clients that were appliance shopping and they raved about it so I looked just to see what they had. They have Fisher & Paykel and Jenn Air and all of that and the prices are really good. It is off the south loop near Telephone Road.

The other place for nicer higher end stuff is Proven Products on Almeda Genoa. They sometimes have floor models they put on sale.

Avoid Conn's. Sketchy practices. Personal experience, plus expose on local news a year or so ago.

I have yet to step foot into a Conn's and have no plans of ever doing so.
I just shake my head whenever people tell me they purchased anything at Conn's.
