There is no "central campus" or "main campus" because there is only one campus of UH.
Wouldn't it solve everything if we went back to "University of Houston - University Park," and, "University of Houston - Downtown?"

I know you are right but I hear people say "UH-Main" all the time.

I'm all about Houston Metropolitan University. I think that's a great suggestion.

It's as good as anything suggested.

Something like "UH-Main Street" or something similar would just further confusion with what is commonly called the UH main campus. Might as well just keep the UHD name then. "University of South Texas" or "South Texas University" is too close to Texas Southern University.

I think Houston City University will be the best name.

So any update on this name change? I always thought they needed to drop the "downtown" and just add allan's landing or polytechnic or something distinctive like that. If the school wants to re-brand why get rid of the U of H? This is what gives the school recognition after all IMO.

is it going to be just "City University" or "CU of Houston" like CUNY?

Not to mention quite misleading as Houston is not located in South Texas.
