I have created the Dome Shadows Nite Club website about 2 years ago. I just added Van's Ballroom to the site. If any of you older members have any memories of these old clubs (1960's and 1970's) please dm me and I will provide the website and I also encourage you to provide me with your memories of either, by dm me or by posting on this thread and I will post them on the website. (with your permission) Thank you, gy2020

Good Afternoon. My name is Virgilee Tamborello. My father and mother, Joe and Josephine Tamborello, were the original owners of the original Van's Ballroom on Fulton Street. Van Bevil leased the property from my parents to build the first open pit barbeque and night club in the city. By '60's standards, it was very swank and a very popular place for many years. The ballroom burned down in the early 1960's and that is when Van moved his operation to the Kipling Street address. Hope this sheds a little light on the beginning history of the ballroom.
