Cypress, The Woodlands etc. did not... they are truly suburban results of Houston's growth.

No such thing. All of them are filled with people that consider theirs to be the best- it's personal preference and job location.

True...and don't be offended by those who don't have a clue...The villages and other areas IN the city of Houston are NOT suburbs. I've been here since 1972..oh. oopsy, please don't tell anyone that... Spring Branch is NOT a suburb..

They may be in the city limits but they are suburban by most any other measure. Spring Branch was annexed by Houston ca. 1960. Also, the Villages are actually independent municipalities, like Bellaire and West U.

The city limits is little more than a political division. Kingwood was annexed in 1996 but is still a suburb in every other respect.

Sugarland, Katy and Pasadena are still their own cities......

It's so funny how everyone (those who are happy where they are) think their area is the best. Sugarland is leading the poll and it is my least favorite ..... no particular reason though - just never been a big fan. You know, I never knew it was two words before, Sugar Land, I always see it written as just one -- thanks for the enlightening on that one!!!
