Default Flyovers for I10 and 99 coming soon?

I know it won't be for a year, or two, but I've seen the surveying markers along I10 where the ramps will be placed for the flyover lanes connecting I10 and 99. At least it is a start. I'm sure it will be relief for the hundreds of people who have to traverse that intersection... I pass by it every day, and I feel for all of you. What a mess.

Great foresight on their part to NOT put them in during I10's construction.

Just call it an overpass already. 'Flyover' sounds like a saucer.

'An overpass (called a flyover in the UK and most Commonwealth countries) is a bridge, road, railway or similar structure that crosses over another road or railway. An overpass structure is one that carries a higher capacity road above a lower capacity road, whereas a structure that permits a lower capacity road to travel above a larger capacity road is an underpass.[citation needed] Capacity is determined as either the number of lanes of travel provided or measured traffic count. In instances of actual or perceived equality between the traffic flows, the term structure can be used.[citation needed]
In North America, a flyover is a high-level overpass, built above main overpass lanes, or a bridge built over what had been an at-grade intersection. Traffic engineers usually refer to the latter as a grade separation. A flyover may also be an extra ramp added to an existing interchange, either replacing an existing cloverleaf loop (or being built in place of one) with a higher, faster ramp that bears left. Such a ramp may be built as a right or left exit.
A pedestrian overpass allows pedestrians safe crossing over busy roads without impacting traffic.
The world's first flyover was constructed in 1842 by the London and Croydon Railway at Norwood Junction railway station to carry its atmospheric railway vehicles over the Brighton Main Line.[1]'

Flyover is the new overpass. Just kidding. TxDOT and texasfreeways.org call them flyovers.

I know that the terms are interchangeable, but I use "overpass" when referring to a road that crosses straight over another, and "flyover" to refer to one that makes a roughly 90 degree turn to connect to another road.

They need to have one from I-10W to 99S, 99N to I-10E and 99S to I-10E. Once they get those three, I think they can wait on the other ones. I don't think they all need to be built at once. The first one I named is for sure going to be built. Those two lanes trying to turn left to get into South Katy are backed up all the time.
