You can condition yourself to the heat/humidity, but be ready for an adjustment period. Drink fluids, drink fluids, drink fluids...

Your body will actually acclimate to exercising in the heat. I do my runs early, but it’s still pretty hot. When I ran on Saturday I started out at 6 am and it was 75 with 94% humidity. I finished at about 8 am and it was 78 with 83% humidity. I carry water and I take money so if I need to I can purchase more fluids. I also expect less of myself in terms of how fast I can go.

Mow the lawn, then drink beer, then take the rest of the week off. You can condition your body or acclimate to the heat, but you can't avoid the diaper rash.

Just sayin'....

Ronnie

I do lift weights with a trainer 3x per week, indoors, with A/C.

Lifetime Fitness.

The only exercise I do outside (when it's this hot) is play basketball. Last summer, I use to jog before the sun came up, but it was still hot then.

Why don't you jog outside around 7:00 or 7:30 PM?

Something about those morning jogs...feels good to start the day off that way.

Houston isn't Cairo or Dubai. The heat is easy to adjust to if you jog early morning or late afternoon.

I've been running (more like a wimpy jog, to be truthful) every day around 2 pm. It is hot and miserable, but I work most nights.

I plan on either Pilates, joining a Gym, or taking Bellydance class
