I do. They ruin the aesthetics of the city.

Let's worry about Houston becoming efficient instead of beautiful, as that actually matters.

i honestly just think it's houston's flatness (that can't be helped) and lack of zoning that hurts it's appearance more than anything
See, the thing is San Antonio generally gets a pass (I don't give it one) because it's a tourist destination, for Texas anyway.

Houston's flatness is mostly softened, if at all, by the greenery and tall buildings, but in low income areas, or areas where things are undeveloped/in the process of being developed (Houston has a really bad manner with things under construction too) things can get sparse.

And that's a sign of a city developing. Once you've stopped developing, you've become stagnant.

Well yeah, developments usually start out under construction.

I think the lush greenery we have here creates a lot more beautiful and comfortable atmosphere than the treeless abyss of cities like Dallas. Maybe you folks haven't spent time in Detroit, Des Moines, Fort Worth, Waco, Oklahoma City, Jackson, Buffalo, Cedar Rapids, El Paso, San Angelo or Lincoln.

True. Houston is quite beautiful, and it's terrain is diverse with palm trees to the south and southeast, pine trees and slight hills to the north and east, and flat rolling prairies to the west.
