There were a lot of people downtown shopping this past weekend for sure. My wife and I noticed that as well. We were able to do much of our Christmas shopping downtown this year and that was nice. I love having Jos. A. Banks down there, especially with the sales that they have. I can't wait to see how the vibe improves once the Marshall art department moves downtown. Combined with more people living downtown, it is really going to be nice.

And I really like Roosters too. My favorite thing to get there is the boneless wings with Carolina Gold sauce. Makes me want some right now just thinking about it!

Nothing like a local craft brew. Anytime I visit a a new city that's what I look for. And these guys can make it a reality to open a brew pub, it will definitely get support not only from locals. But from travelers as well. Hopefully these guys can get it off the ground and do it right. Charleston will soon have a brew pub opening between Capitol and Summers Streets.

I'm not a beer/alcohol person but I look forward to the vibe this would add to downtown.

Lots of rumored stuff going on right now around town. Supposedly a Popeyes is going in at the old Gomart across from Cabell Huntington Hospital and then Sheetz and Chipotle are rumored for the two old Steiner's lots on 5th Ave. The Stewarts on 5th Ave and 1st street has a property sold sign on it and there's some speculation Dunkin Donuts may be going in there due to the fact that Jolly Pirate used to be in that area and the concentration of other food businesses in the area.

Lots of activity and plans going on around town with all of this and the Hal Greer plans. Either way, movement is happening at the sites above regardless of what goes in.
