Funny. It is centrally located but seems like an odd place overall.

This is the first one, and the best part is that it opens the door for the company to open more in WV (Like Charleston, Parkersburg, Morgantown, etc...).

Where is there an old Shell on that corner? That's near the stadium right? That is a rather odd location, but I know it will be a huge hit because it's right down the street from the majority of the dorms.

MedExpress set to open new Huntington location - The Herald Dispatch
Med Express has invaded everywhere. Every time I visit back home from Florida, it seems like there is always a new Med Express being opened, I'd rather have seen Dunkin open, but I'm still rooting for Charleston to beat Huntington to that You beat us to the Chipotle though

Charleston's will come soon I'm sure. I believe that location was chosen because there wasn't many other options for the space. My friend said, "well why not 4th," my response was because that there really isn't any room left on 4th. It is actually packed. Plus, yes, it is close to the school and in particular the dorms.

The location is across the street from Wendy's by the stadium, yes.

I'd thin they'd want to open up near Pullman Square, but obviously they want to be closer to the mass of students. Plus this would be easier for car traffic to get to instead of parking at the garage at Pullman Square. I'm still jealous though, Luckily I have plenty on Chipotles' here in Tampa to satisfy my desire.

Hooray Chipotle!!

This will blow away the other food options along 5th Avenue. There is something like 60,000 menu combinations.

Actually, you may have a point. There is an empty spot where Benny's used to be in Pullman. I'm sure that is more than enough space and there will be quite a few students in Pullman in the coming years due to the new Visual Arts Center.

Then again, they may have wanted to build their own building to their specifications for some reason. The car traffic might be another reason, as you had mentioned.

Great news! Glad to hear a confirmation of this. The spot at the mall that is supposed to be a Chipotle is pretty far along so we may hear something about that soon too. Hopefully they will expedite the project on 5th Ave to be done before football season is over. Pullman would have been a great location but honestly, I think the spot where Benny's was is a bit too small. Plus as mentioned, 5th Ave sees a lot of traffic and is within walking distance from Marshall. If the lot beside it turns into a Sheetz, they'll be even more traffic there!

In other news, The Taphouse is opening soon!

FYI, I'm hearing that a Cookout is coming to Huntington. I don't know what the rumor (or runor, for our BGN friends) mill is down there, as I'm up in Morgantown, but an acquaintance of mine says that one is definitely coming. Thoughts?

Edit - Apparently, it will go on the corner of 5th Ave and 25th St. by the new soccer complex.
