Haven't actually heard that but was wondering if it might happen. Pub and Oven did close and more work is being done on that space. A brewery would do well there.

Maple Brown Ale. It says the Maple syrup was from a local source.

I'm still hearing rumbles of a gourmet burger place and a brewery. I bet they will just serve local brews and not brew their own. That space is pretty small for a brewery.

I keep hearing about a local brewery in the works though. The space where Pub and Oven was would work if they used the second floor for the brewing equipment. If you look, they are working on the second floor and it appears to be in conjunction with what's going on in the first floor.

The problem with that is the location. A central location is good BUT it will be expensive to operate a microbrew in the heart of downtown. I think that the space might be put to better use. Though I would be glad if anything set up in there.

Based on businesses that have been there in the past, the rent doesn't seem to be overly high. The name on the permit also suggests that whatever is going in there has some good financial backing.

The latest I heard was no brewery but will serve local beers ONLY, along with gourmet burgers.

I guess "local beers" means brewed within 75 miles or so. There is beer being brewed in Parkersburg, Charleston, and Fayetteville. Further away, beer is brewed in Morgantown, Martinsburg, and Thomas. I don't know where craft breweries exist in Ohio or Kentucky.

Portsmouth brewing co and possibly Great Lakes (it's becoming pretty popular).

I heard that it would be WV beers only....who knows?! Either way, should be a nice addition to the area. Huntington still needs to get it's own brewery!
